North Beach, Clearwater Beach – perhaps the most quaint residential beach area?
You are crossing the bridge from main land into Clearwater Beach. The view is amazing; small boats and yachts cruising the intracoastal waters and white sailboats rushing into the Gulf of Mexico. You manage to get on and off the crazy round about as you enter Clearwater Beach, turn north, drive pass Mandalay Towers on your left, pass Frenchy’s restaurant and you are almost there – yes, it’s the North Beach.
North Beach is one of the oldest beach communities not only in Clearwater Beach but in the whole Pinellas County and Tampa Bay area. Today you can find homes for sale that were built in mid 20’s and 30’s, many featuring the original beach cottage charm of that era. Of course over the years the North Beach area was built out and there are nearly a 1,000 residential homes in this area today. Regatta Beach Club, built in the early 60’s, is the only condo tower located in the midst of the single family homes of the North Beach. Condos range from $100k to $270k at Regatta and single family homes go from mid $200’s to $2.6 million.
The most northern part of Eldorado Avenue is a gated community of just a dozen homes. They are prime luxury real estate along the beaches of Pinellas and have access to both sides of the water: the beach for relaxing and intracoastal for the boat docking. Before the entrance of this exquisite community of Clearwater Beach is Carlouel - one of the oldest private Yacht Clubs in the area, where members enjoy a lavished lifestyle. Fine dining, open water views, club activities and the beautiful amenities of this club keep the members active year around.
Clearwater Beach is a popular destination for thousands of tourists every year. North Beach offers just a little more peace and distance from the busy public beach.
