A Morning Walk In St Petersburg, FL
Have you even been on top of the St Pete Pier? Many have, but have you watched the sunrise there? I was fortunate enough to be there before the sun came up a few days ago and the guards have just opened the elevator and let me in. The views from the Pier are spectacular and when that sun rises over Tampa Bay it floods the St Pete Downtown with a bight spectrum of gold and orange colors. Every tower reflects the blinding sun rays, in particular The Ovation and The Signature Building that are so rich with the glass surface.
St Pete is calm at 7 am. Some fishermen enjoy the morning breeze and the first catch of the day. A few joggers and bicyclists can’t get any better views than these. Restaurant servicemen wash the sidewalks getting ready for early breakfast guests.
By 9 am the batteries are charged and life is starting to pump through the streets and avenues of the city. Cassis American Brasserie is filled with lively chatter, someone is reading St Pete Times, coffee is hot. Shops are open, business is on.
St Petersburg is where I live. Downtown is where I work. This is my city.
